Mr. Einuis began his tenure as Director of Bands at West Springfield High School in the fall of 2003.  Mr. Einuis’ primary instructional responsibilities include conducting the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, and the Marching Spartans.  Prior to joining the staff at West Springfield, Mr. Einuis was the Performing Arts Department Chair at J.E.B. Stuart High School in Falls Church, Virginia, and previously taught instrumental music in the Virginia Beach City Public Schools.  He was also the Brass Caption Supervisor for the Tarheel Sun Drum and Bugle Corps in 1996-97, and is currently a member of the logistics and transportation  staff for the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps, from Allentown, PA.  Prior to his teaching career Mr. Einuis spent 15 years in various operations, engineering, and technical management positions in the television industry, and is Certified as a Television Broadcast Engineer by the Society of Broadcast Engineers.

 

Mr. Einuis is a native of Long Island, and a New York State Regents Scholar.  He holds a Bachelor of Music in Trombone Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Iowa, where he studied trombone with John Hill, George Krem and Randy Melton, and wind conducting and literature with Morgan Jones and Myron Welch. He earned a Master of Science in Education, with a concentration in Wind Band Literature and Conducting, from Old Dominion University, where he studied with Dennis Zeisler, and Dr. Nancy KleinHe has completed advanced conducting study with Dr. Terry Austin, Mark Camphouse, Anthony Maiello, and Col. Arnald D. Gabriel.

 

Mr. Einuis is a member of the Music Educators National Conference, Virginia Music Educators Association, Virginia Band and Orchestra Director’s Association, International Association of Jazz Educators, Fairfax County Band Directors’ Association, Phi Mu Alpha, Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Beta Mu, The Society of Broadcast Engineers, Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. He is the Virginia State Chair of the National Band Association, and VBODA District XI Instrumental Representative.  Mr. Einuis maintains an active schedule as a performer with the Fairfax Wind Symphony and several local big bands.  He is also a staff member and conductor with Virginia’s Ambassadors of Music. Mr. Einuis frequently serves a guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician, and has served as arranger and drill designer for several Virginia and North Carolina marching bands.
